Description:
The 5m tall Spire Sculpture is formed from stainless steel, hollow box, square section lengths and clad with stainless steel panels. Internal lighting provides brilliant points of colour seen through the spiral designs perforated in the stainless steel sheet and shines up through the cast glass face and apex elements. A curving ‘S’ form, made from copper tube, patinated green, wraps around the top half of Aspire. Sited in a pool next to the new ‘SP/ARK’ Creative Industries Centre
in the Science Park.
ABR were the stainless steel fabricators, the glass was cast by Jackson Fawkes. Castle Fine Arts Foundry assisted with the copper curve and installation. R & G Theatre Services Ltd. provided the lighting.
