Coalway Crow Fire Sculpture

Commissioned by Coalway and District Recreation Committee. Made for the Coalway Frost Fair.

The Coalway Crow was the 47th and last fire sculpture Phil has made.

This was in 2012 and it was fitting that it was constructed in our home village in the Forest of Dean.

Phil was assisted by Peter Covington-Jones, Sue Wright and Dave Morris.

Juins Haffenden worked with Coalway Junior School pupils - making lanterns to process with, the procession was organised by Roger Drury.

Tash Hill worked with Philip at Lakers School, enabling the students to construct their own smaller fire sculptures, which were set alight around the Coalway Crow.

On the night of the Frost Fair Djabot Drumming Group performed as the fire burnt.
