Shell Seat Sculptures

Flaghead Chine, Poole
Commissioned by Environmental Services,
Borough of Poole

Funded by the Coastal Communities Fund.

The trio of Portland Stone Shells Sculptures are a focal point to this new Seaside Garden designed by Barbara Uphoff -Landscape Designer for the Borough of Poole. She designed the garden to connect the spectacular views through the wooded chine onto the beach and beyond to the Purbeck Hills.

Phil made maquettes and drawings for the masons at Albion Stone to work from. He checked progress during a couple of visits and spent a week at Albion to fine finish the work and detail carving on the shells.
