Heron

Northenden Riverside Park - Over Eights Play Area, Manchester

Commissioned by Manchester City Council's Park Service

A 2 metre high Heron is set on a 3.5 metre tall Oak column, the heron is shown as if it has slightly overshot its landing. The steel construction uses scrap parts such as pipe bends, ridged steel reinforcing rod for the legs etc, all welded with galvanizing by Hereford Galvanizers.

The sculpture is sited on a footpath next to a play area, and can also be seen from the M60 motorway.
